You made a grown man cry. I’d forgotten how much Calvin and Hobbes meant to me growing up. You really need to continue with this strip, its pure magic.
Wow. Just wow. You put a tear in the corner of this 33yo dudes eye and have me feeling all the feels and a *pow* straight in the childhood. So very good work.
I have the entire Calvin and Hobbes collection in my room, from the very first strip. This is an AMAZING sequel to it, and I’m very glad I found it. Please don’t ever stop making these!
OMG, I just found this on reddit. You have got to keep this going. I was heart broken when Bill stopped making Calvin & Hobbes so long ago and I even got my youngest son hooked on the series – I got him the complete collection a couple Christmas’ ago and he’s read them over and over, I’ll have to show him these and see if they make him cry like they did to me, especially this one, it’s incredible! PLEASE make more!
Ita sad that it took a year for these to be found… Maybe there is still enough momentum to go forward. Hobbes should be an integral part of any childhood!
I just wanted to say thank you for making these. Seeing these really struck me in an unexpected/emotional way. I didn’t realize how much these needed to be made until I saw them. The story is better for them.
So when are you going to work with Watterson/Universal to get the rights, and start a kickstarter to fund a book? Fuck all the pricks that made money off those Calvin pissing on X stickers, you deserve that money for making something in the spirit of C&H!
It’s been over a year since this came out, and I just stumbled across it today.
I didn’t experience C&H like most fans: I’m 17, senior in high school, but I began reading them back in 6th grade. I got the complete collection 7th grade, and read all of them. Then reread them, again and again, because I knew that the strip was done and wouldn’t see anything new with Calvin anymore.
These actually made me cry a little bit, and I hope that someday you guys return to work on these strips. Maybe even get Watterson to let you continue these as an officially licensed sequel (I know that’s a stretch, but what I wouldn’t give for another 10 years of daily trips to Calvin’s world. Or Bacon’s, rather…
please… i don’t know what it would take, but I would be…is there a more pronounced word than ecstatic? I would be ecstatic if you continued this series. I grew up on the C&H comics, and I think that what you have here is the makings of a huge fan base. if there are more, please, someone redirect me, because i want more
best of luck!
I posted this on the high definite website as well, so I’m not spamming, I’m just being vehement in my opinion
Reading these strips have reminded me of the magic that Calvin brought to the world. And though, like Calvin, I am older now, I still see the magic and wonder that comes from not completely growing up. What a wonderful gift. Thank you. I don’t know what the copyright implications are for this, but for once I wish the law would just go away so you could do more Hobbes and Bacon. A lot more.
I would just like to thank you so much for these strips. When I was a little kid, I used to steal my brother’s Calvin and Hobbes comics. The day the-writer-who-shall-not-be-named decided to put the pen down, it broke my heart. These really restore my faith in humanity. Thank you.
Oh man! That brings back memories. Please get permission to continue this new “spin-off” of the old Calvin and Hobbes. Bacon is too cool for words. She is the little girl that I knew was in my kid sister. She always called me a Calvin, now I can call her a Bacon. Thanks!
I’m not going join the chorus of people requesting more episodes; part of Watterson’s genius was taking Franklin’s advice and leaving while everyone still wanted him to stay.
But holy cow were these touching and good and perfectly faithful to the tone of the original. Thank you for them.
No. This is not awesome, or art, or a cute and nice way of keep going with the Calvin and hobbes universe this is just plain stupid. A vulgar and completely idiotic humor who damages the reputation and ideas of an amazing comic book. BILL WATERON EXPRESSLY HATES ANY KIND OF MERCHANDISE, SPIN-OFFS or similar bullshit. This “Pants are overrated” sentimentalizes the Calvin and Hobbes universe and completely misunderstands the idea of the relation between Calvin and his tiger.
Simón: I totally appreciate feedback, even negative feedback, and I’m definitely not gonna tell you that you should love our strips.
But to us, it was nothing more than a fan comic, a tribute to a man and to characters that we loved and lost, I understand it’s a trespass, maybe even sacrilege, but we don’t make money off the strip, we have no sponsors or income from Hobbes & Bacon, and I have even heard that people have gone out and bought the complete Calvin & Hobbes collection after reading this.
We just love Calvin & Hobbes, and we were not trying to copy Bill Watterson, or pretend like we were on his level, we just wanted people to know how much we loved him and how much he meant to people everywhere.
And the very fact that Hobbes & Bacon spreads like it does more than our comics about Mario, or the Hobbit, or Star Wars or Minecraft is proof that while our comics may not be Calvin & Hobbes, it definitely helps people remember it, which is really all we were going for.
Ahh nostalgia, Calvin & Hobbes was always a favorite of mine. I remember when I came to elementary wielding a massive vocabulary, all thanks to that comic. So seeing this warms my heart, good work.
Dear Tom, I respect Simón’s feelings, but I don’t agree. Actually I do think that you catched Calvin’s spirit in a fantastic way. Of course now he’s an adult, but that amazing child is still there. =)
Plus since Bacon is a girl, it’s normal that she could develop a different relationship with Hobbes. Finally, I do think this is a GREAT fantastic tribute to the original comics. This has spread in many places worldwide, I have to say. Many Brazilians fans also love it, for instance (btw sorry for any poor English). And I do agree that it only helps keeping C&H spirit alive.
So congratulations for it and keep making good art, as the other genius has suggested.
After a long time of being busy i forgot all about Calvin and Hobbes and how much i loved reading about them. I thank God that i accidentally saw your comic about Calvin giving Bacon Hobbes and I had this sort of flashback (insert flashback here) and it motivated me to buy the complete collection of Calvin and Hobbes. Thank you for this fan comic! It has my imagination going now about how Bacon and Hobbes can be even more imaginative than Calvin and how he’s gonna join in since he’s her father now Thanks and nice illustrations and story by the way
How did I miss these? Is it possible to continue to write an Adult Calvin? Is Watterson OK with it? God, if you can please do! I will buy all your books if they are the caliber you’ve shown here. An Adult Calvin with a little Girl is gold.

This made me cry. Thank you so very much; this is absolutely amazing.

Tomorrow, it will be a year since this was made. Still awesome.
Ita sad that it took a year for these to be found… Maybe there is still enough momentum to go forward. Hobbes should be an integral part of any childhood!
You truly made something special with this. Thank you.
Strange how a comic strip could evoke so much sentimentality- this truly brought tears to my eyes. Sad that this is a year old now…

There’s a spin-off of your spin-off and I think this has some potential.

You should make comics again. I want more “Hobbes & Bacon” because I love those strips!

I’ve desperately needed cheering up since Friday’s tragedy. You’ve made me feel a warm fuzzy again, and for that, I thank you.
I’m not going join the chorus of people requesting more episodes; part of Watterson’s genius was taking Franklin’s advice and leaving while everyone still wanted him to stay.

Absolute genius! Keep it up!
I just came across these strips while reading up on C&H online. I’m a little sad and fuzzy that Calvin’s grown up, because it reminds me that I have.
OMG, PLEASE MAKE MORE, THESE ARE SO AMAZING AND SWEET!!!
“I have a better game…” EPIC
THANK YOU for this series! You’ve GOT to get the rights and continue it!!
Ahh. This takes me back. And it makes me feel old, and I’m not even 20. Wish they would post another one.
